Welcoming the visiting delegates at the African Climate Summit on Monday, President William Ruto outlined the reasons why Nairobi is the right place for the conference. Ruto, in an attempt to give the visitors a feel of the city, noted the presence of the Nairobi National Park and forests. During the announcement, the President said the meeting is aimed at fast-tracking Africa's progress into joining the leadership of the global climate action. "I am convening a Climate Action Summit in Nairobi, to take place from September 4, 2023. "It is time to escalate this consensus and propel Africa to join the leadership of the global climate action.
