Deputy President William Ruto has condemned the arrest of his ally Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua saying it is politically instigated. Ruto appeared to link Gachagua's arrests to his role in the just concluded Kiambaa by-election where he led UDA campaigns." My brother Gachagua, I know you are strong because we knew this politically instigated trumped-up charges were coming," Ruto said. Rigathi was picked up by DCI from his home in Nyeri county and brought to Nairobi for interrogations in connection to money laundering . Via FB post on Friday, Gachagua said dozens of DCI officers raided his Nyeri home to face up charges of money laundering.
