President William Ruto's week once again involved him talking tough to leaders on corruption. It followed the announcement on Monday by the Energy Regulatory Authority (Epra) that fuel prices would remain unchanged in the August-September cycle despite a hike in prices of imported fuel products. During this month's fuel prices review, Epra said the government had resorted to retaining fuel prices in order to cushion Kenyans from the hike in fuel prices. President Ruto reiterated that he will not tolerate corrupt leaders in his government. Also, President Ruto nominated Andrew Mukite Musangi as Chairman of the Central Bank of Kenya.
