The Supreme Court on Tuesday stopped the proposed burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Unimpeachable sources told The Manila Times that magistrates of the high court, during deliberations on Monday, decided to issue a Status Quo Ante Order in reply to the petitions asking the tribunal to stop the burial of Marcos at the Heroes’ Cemetery. The status quo order will last for 20 days. The order means that the parties involved have to maintain the status quo, thus cannot act until the high court issues a ruling on the case. There are four petitions filed before the SC against the plan to bury Marcos at the cemetery.
