The visitors were cruising at one stage despite having lost three wickets having scored 147 runs in 23 overs. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan fell early but the other opener Prithvi Shaw got an able ally in the debutant Sanju Samson. While Samson hit more in the v, smashing a six straight down the ground, a pull shot and a couple of inside-out shot. Unfortunately for India, both fell in quick succession but Suryakumar Yadav picked up from the last game and hit a flurry of boundaries, to keep with the run rate. Sri Lanka will now need 227 runs (DLS adjusted target) to win the third ODI and avoid a whitewash.
