SilvaIn what can be termed a developing tug-o-war behind the screen in local cricket administration, between Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) executive committee and the Aravinda de Silva-led Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), SLC last week decided to stand firmly on its stance to hold the next edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) on time, from 30 July. “Sri Lanka Cricket is an entity where you have 21 executive committee members at present. “They have been adamant that the LPL should have a separate entity, under a separate governing body, and under a separate staff. On Sunday (20), SLC officially announced the commencement of player registration process for the event will begin from yesterday (21). There were media reports earlier that the LPL second edition may get off only later this year.
