In a reference decision, the Supreme Court agreed and mandated that judicial salaries would henceforth need to be set by independent commissions. Justin Trudeau only gets to remain prime minister because he commands the confidence of the House of Commons. If a majority of MPs decides they don’t want Trudeau as prime minister any more, he can be turfed out.
