The SNP has been partly blamed for inflaming sectarianism in Scottish society in a new report into the issue. The prestigious Policing Insight journal, which advocates 'progressive policing' to an international audience, said Scottish Nationalism had "played into" divides in the country. He claims sectarianism is "a real and present danger to Scottish society that hasn’t gone away, but no one wants to address". Dr Rosie said: "The Orange Orders used to be trained by Strathclyde Police. He calls Orange Walks "unacceptable" and adds: "...returning to the implication that Scottish nationalism may be inflaming sectarianism, this does not survive a collision with the facts.
