Saddleworth cafe announces return of 'decadent' Easter drink

Grandpa Greene's luxury ice cream parlour has two successful venues to its name, its first canalside cafe that was set up on Ward Lane in Diggle and its more recent bistro on Wade Row in Uppermill. The Saddleworth company dates back more than 100 years as Grandpa Greene started making his own ice cream using a churn in the backyard of his corner shop in Salford. During lockdown and at the peak of the pandemic, GG's partnered with Slattery, a patisserie and chocolatier in Whitefield, to launch its award-winning decadent Easter egg hot chocolate. The Easter egg hot chocolate was a particular highlight for me. I found it was generously stuffed with whipped cream, marshmallows and Mini eggs, plus it was topped with a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
