Taxi-hailing firm Little Cab on Friday upgraded the security feature on its Rider app to include an alert function which sends a distress signal in the event of risk of an attack. The company partnered with Hello Kenyan – the Peace and Community Policing Programme run by the National Police Service commonly known as Peace Corp.Little Cab chief executive Kamal Budhabatti said comfort, affordability and safety were the key aims driving its strategy in growing its share in the highly competitive industry. “We pride ourselves as being an innovative market leader, embracing technology to address real issues that face us locally and we will continue with more,” Budhabatti told a press conference in Nairobi. Commissioner of police and programme co-ordinator at Peace-Cop Mark Leleruk said the partnership will ensure public safety and prevent crimes.
