Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias labeled on Wednesday Morocco’s autonomy plan as a “serious and credible approach” for the resolution of the Sahara issue. Athens “deems the Moroccan autonomy plan for the Sahara, submitted to the United Nations, as a serious and credible approach to reach a solution” to this regional conflict, said Mr. Dendias at a press briefing after talks in Rabat with his Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita. The Greek top diplomat affirmed that his country “supports the efforts of the United Nations aimed at reaching a just, realistic, durable and mutually acceptable solution” to the Sahara issue in accordance with UN resolutions. “We encourage all parties to continue their commitment in a spirit of realism and compromise”, added the Foreign minister of Greece during his official visit to the North African Kingdom.
