The beleaguered Stephenville airport is now on the block, after a Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court judge approved a plan to seek buyers for the insolvent facility. Justice Alexander MacDonald granted a full receivership order on Monday afternoon, and green lit the court-supervised sales process going forward. Dymond Group of Companies president and CEO Carl Dymond announced big plans for the Stephenville Airport at a media event held on Sept. 9, 2021. Dymond publicly signalled his interest in the Stephenville airport at a press conference in September 2021. A year ago, the Stephenville airport was downgraded to a registered aerodrome.
