The theme for San Francisco Ballet’s 85th Repertory Season Opening Night Gala invoked a sense of awe and wonder inspired by our passion for the open skies. Held on January 18th at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House, the Gala was chaired by Kathryn A. Huber with Christine Russell and Mark Schlesinger serving as the Honorary Chairs and Ms. Betsy A. Linder as the Gala dinner chair. The Gala performance featured nine classical and contemporary works, three of which were San Francisco Ballet premieres! From Alexander McQueen to Giambattista Valli, the night belonged to custom gowns befitting the world’s most glamorous red carpets. The classic fashion tradition of proudly proclaiming “who are you wearing” lives on in our discerning Best Dressed List, the 85th Gala Night Edition.
