To book sand, one needs to visit www.mines.bih.nic.in or call 0612-2215266, but traders claimed that despite logging in or making calls they are not getting the chalan needed for getting sand. Kunal Kumar Yadav, a sand trader, said: "We went to the warehouse at Mishrpura for getting chalan. The duo claimed that illegal mining was on despite the government's new law to check illegal sale and supply of sand. Earlier, a tractor full (measuring around 100 cubic feet sand) was available at Rs 2,600, but now suppliers are demanding between Rs 5,500 and Rs 6,000. We are not getting sand as mining has not started in Patna district.
