Golwalkar, Hindutva ideologue and the second ‘Sarsanghchalak’ of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), had advocated in his writings and speeches that Hindus across the globe, regardless of their citizenship, should unite. They are known for their close association with the American Sangh, as the Sangh Parivar is often referred to there, and the BJP. He began to organise shakhas at his house, which brought him closer to the Hindu Swayamasewak Sangh (HSS), the U.S. wing of the RSS. In India, Ekal is accused of promoting hate against Muslims and Christians and indoctrinating students in remote villages inhabited by tribal people. Over the past two decades, its chairman Braham Aggarwal and treasurer Suresh Gupta have given millions of dollars to Sangh organisations for various programmes and projects.
