The Times is expecting Palin's lawsuit to go ahead after the mediation. After the shooting, Bennet's editorial board wrote that Palin's Political Action Committees (PAC) had contributed to an atmosphere of violence that led to Giffords' shooting. The Times issued a correction noting the editorial had 'incorrectly stated that a link existed between political rhetoric and the 2011 shooting.' The Daily Mail contacted Palin and The New York Times for comment.
