Sarah Canner is founder/designer of Vespertine NYC, a “safety fashion” company that creates clothing to help cyclists stay safe and look good in the saddle. Reflective material worn on people has great lifesaving properties, although it's rarely given its due. Ultimately, I was so moved by this vision of safety wear as beautiful, stylish clothes, that I founded the company. Safety wear has a reputation for being cheap, but the reality is high quality, bright reflective material is expensive. Should cyclists wear reflective gear in the day as well?
