Those are the scathing conclusions of a select committee that has published a report into the government's work on active travel. In its 'Seventy-fifth report of Session 2022-23' the select committee evaluated the Department for Transport's work on active travel. As was the department having "not done enough to understand the impact and benefits of the £2.3 billion of taxpayers' money it has spent on active travel". DfT and ATE should, by April 2024, develop a clear and consistent approach for ensuring greater integration of active travel infrastructure with the public transport network. The Public Accounts Committee report is the latest blow to the government deaprtment.
