Prakash on Friday reviewed the progress of the schemes being executed in the district for the welfare of people belonging to minority communities. Prakash highlighted the various schemes implemented in the State for the benefit of minorities such as renovation of churches and mosques and darghas, scholarships for students of minority communities to pursue higher education in self-financing colleges, assistance programme for undertaking holy pilgrimages to Haj and Jerusalem and pension for Ulemas. Collector K. Rajamani said the welfare and assistance schemes meant for minorities were being implemented well in the district. Prakash distributed welfare assistance to 13 women from minority communities under various schemes.
