KUANTAN: Forty-five secondary school teachers showed their creative side at a School Times workshop organised by the New Straits Times (NST) Newspaper in Education (NIE) programme today. The teachers from 45 schools here took part in the half-day workshop which helped them employ the NST papers to conduct lessons in the classroom. The teachers were even given an insight on how NST is produced including the roles played by reporters, sub-editors, editors and vendors before it reaches its readers. One of the participants Khairun Sofea Shahrulzaman described the workshop as an eye-opener which helped teachers assist their students better, especially those weak in English. “Since I teach at a school for students with special needs, I have learnt a lot of new teaching methods which caters for the 21st century students.
