Central Falls Democratic state representative Joshua Giraldo has introduced proposed legislation supported by the Rhode Island Hospitality Association, which will go in front of the General Assembly. Giraldo explained: "At its core, this is about recognising the once-in-a-generation moment for the largest sporting event in the world and to make sure Rhode Island is ready to meet it. Rhode Island Hospitality Association spokesman Ryan Moot said: "Staying open 24 hours represents a meaningful economic opportunity for an industry facing significant cost pressures. The bill was proposed this week with no opposition to it, although the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns asked for amendments "clarifying the role of local licensing boards." But it's expected to be passed and Scotland fans' World Cup party looks like it could last all day and all night for their stay in the New England region.
