Ben Bradshaw said it was unstainable for the government in London to deny a second independence referendum PAGordon Brown’s former culture secretary has said he wis in “no doubt” that Scotland will become independent from the UK. Ben Bradshaw, who served in various junior ministerial positions under Tony Blair and Mr Brown before he was appointed to cabinet in 2009, said that it was “unsustainable” for the British government to deny Scotland a second independence referendum. The Labour MP for Exeter said all of his Scottish husband’s family had voted SNP in the election last month “for the first time in their lives”. They had voted “no” in 2014 but would support separation in any future contest, he said. “I have no doubt that Scotland will become independent,” he told the German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel.
