Monica Lennon, Scottish Labour’s health spokeswoman, has backed a complete policy split, saying: “It is no longer tenable for decisions about Scottish Labour to be taken or undermined by colleagues outside of Scotland.”However, Ian Murray, Labour’s only remaining Scottish MP, who is expected to run for deputy leader of the party, suggested that Scottish Labour might be too impoverished to survive on its own. Mr Murray, a staunch unionist, also criticised Scottish Labour colleagues who are demanding a review of the party’s opposition to a second independence referendum.
