Scottish newspaper editor David McCann charged over alleged indecent communications


A Scottish newspaper editor has been suspended after being charged in connection with alleged indecent online communications. David McCann, editor of The Times and The Sunday Times in Scotland, was arrested after police executed a search warrant at a property in the Edinburgh area on 25 November. McCann was promoted to editor of the News UK titles in July, having previously served as deputy editor and news editor. Before joining the company in 2018, he previously worked as assistant editor and head of news at The Herald, and assistant news editor at the Daily Record. "A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with indecent online communications."
