Photo: Getty ImagesJAKARTA, Indonesia—The death toll from an earthquake and tsunami that struck Indonesia’s Sulawesi island doubled to more than 800 on Sunday as the full scale of the disaster began to unfold and aid workers attempted to reach areas cut off since the deadly wave hit on Friday evening. Jusuf Kalla, the country’s vice president, warned that thousands of people might have died. He said authorities had received little word of what happened in the Donggala area near the epicenter of the quake, where nearly 300,000 people live.
