Sean Lennon's tree at the centre of neighbour's lawsuit

Sean Lennon's tree at the centre of neighbour's lawsuit6sqft.com A 50-year-old tree was at the center of an on-going legal battle between Sean Lennon and the parents of actress Marisa Tomei. The Tomei's lawsuit claimed the tree spread roots on their property, "cracking the stoop, breaking the railings, and coming through the basement floor of their townhouse," according to court documents. CURBED The tree was on Lennon's property (right), but its highly invasive roots were damaging the Tomei's front steps and cracking the walls of their basement. Lennon's tree surgeon had said that the huge tree could survive another 25 years, according to court records, and Lennon's legal team suggested that the Tomeis could solve the problem by taking a small hand-held grinder to their railings. The NY Post now reports that Lennon has finally settled the $14.5 million lawsuit and removed the pesky tree.
