The bandits were killed in a joint attack by the Ethiopian defence force, federal police and regional security forces in an effort to bring lasting peace to the area, state-affiliated Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) quoted Benishangul-Gumuz regional government as saying on Monday. The 16 bandits were said to be behind the series of attacks that targeted innocent civilians in Dangur district, located in Metekel Zone of Ethiopia's western Benishangul-Gumuz region, it was reported.
