Senators have retreated to a closed-door session to discuss the submissions of the parties in the impeachment case against the govenor. Speaker Amason Kingi ordered the retreat after the house concluded the day's open hearing. The open session resumes at exactly 10am, with majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot expected to move a motion to debate the impeachment. Only 47 elected senators (delegation) will participate in the vote. At least 24 senators will be required to vote in favour of the motion to uphold Kawira's impeachment.
