The RBI will announce its policy stance on Thursday after 11.45 am. A majority of bank treasury heads surveyed by Mint expects the RBI to announce a status quo policy while changing its policy stance from calibrated tightening to neutral. Falling inflation along with an expansionary budget could push the RBI to maintain the policy rates unchanged, said a section of bankers. The global rate tightening cycle has seemingly come to an end. Whether central banks want to go from a rate hike to a rate cut so soon will be keenly watched," Jasnani added.
