Serena Williams dropped a set to Mihaela Buzarnescu but finished strongly to reach the third round of the French Open at Roland Garros yesterday. Williams, who had her right thigh strapped, responded well, though, and completed a 6-3 5-7 6-1 victory to set up a third-round clash with Danielle Collins. I’ve been playing in practice unbelievable on my serve. In the men’s draw, Stefanos Tsitsipas continued his straightforward progress with a 6-3 6-4 6-3 victory over qualifier Pedro Martinez. Martinez broke the Tsitsipas serve four times, but the Greek responded with eight breaks of his own.
