The panel reversed an award of $5,315,787 in royalties on record sales and licenses received as profits by Jackson’s production company from a joint venture with Sony Music that Mr. Jones claims should have been paid to him. The justices also reversed an award of $1,574,128 for fees Mr. Jones said he would have received if the production company, MJJ Productions Inc., had given him the right of first opportunity to remix Jackson’s master recordings.
