KOTA KINABALU: Friendship cannot take precedence over the future of the nation, says Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal in response to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's scathing remarks about him. Brushing aside accusations that he had "stabbed Najib's back", Shafie said that his style was to confront critical issues directly, even if it involved the Prime Minister. Eventually Tan Sri Muhyiddin (Yassin) joined in," he said. On Najib's claim that he failed to work with Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman on state matters, Shafie claimed that "the wrong things were whispered in the Prime Minister's ears". "Perhaps now that I am heading Parti Warisan Sabah, Musa sees me as a bigger threat," added Shafie, who said the people would be the judge of who did what.
