Sharge, Thailand's leading electric vehicle (EV) charging operator, has announced a strategic partnership with the Grab ride-hailing platform to promote EV adoption through the launch of Grab EV charging stations, dedicated exclusively for Grab drivers. With an investment of more than 400 million baht, Sharge aims to establish 40 charging stations nationwide by 2027. Parichat Sriwilai, deputy director of driver management at Grab Thailand, said since 2020 Grab Thailand has promoted EV adoption among drivers and riders, providing ride-hailing and delivery services through the Grab EV programme. The Grab EV charging stations are expected to feature a special rate of 6 baht per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for Grab drivers, compared with the standard rate of 6.4-7.6 baht per kWh.
