Sharma has been expelled after he manufactured personal grievance into political ambition. Labour won’t cast him out and force a by-election using the waka jumping legislation because 1 – that WILL look like bullying and 2 – Labour might not win a bell weather electorate. He’s not doing this for genuine grievance, he’s doing it for naked ambition. It is a perfectly feasible and possible outcome that Sharma rides his political martyrdom all the way through as an independent and wins the seat in 2023. Sharma’s rise is evidence of the entropy democracy faces, not the toxic masculinity culture of the Patriarchy and bullying trigger thresholds.
