What remained of a 200-year-old oak tree made famous by the movie Shawshank Redemption has been cut up and hauled away by an owner of the north-central Ohio property. The Shawshank Redemption, starring Morgan Freeman (left) and Tim Robbins, was added to the prestigious U.S. National Film Registry in 2015. (Castle Rock Entertainment/Library of Congress/Associated Press)The tree was in one of the final scenes of the 1994 film starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The tree sat on private property, but fans could view it from the nearby Malabar Farm State Park. It had been a featured stop in a series of places in north-central Ohio related to the film.
