It is like something from a horror film, when your skin becomes your enemy. All that time, taking it for granted as a boring waterproof sack for your internal organs. Although others thought this skin was me, it wasn’t at all. I told my skin: “You are literally revolting.” It was all, to my mind, my skin’s fault. I did not stop to wonder: had I got that the wrong way around?
