Sheffield Wednesday captain Liam Palmer is set to make his 500th appearance for the club when they take on Watford in the Championship on Tuesday (19:45 GMT). The 34-year-old will become just the fourth player to reach that tally for the Owls since their founding in 1867. "This being my 500th [appearance] at Hillsborough, leading the team out will be right up there with the best of [my Wednesday memories]," Palmer told BBC Radio Sheffield. Palmer joined the Owls academy aged seven and made his senior debut aged 18 in a 1-0 League Cup win over now defunct Bury FC.
