Wakefield Athletic went down 3-1 at AFC Viaduct as a much sharper and clinical home team came from behind. Athletic made a bright start with Danny Jones and Levon Zserdicky creating chances for Danny Young who went close twice. A poor first half display proved costly as Wakefield Athletic A were edged out by the odd goal in seven against Crown Scissett in Group Six of the inter-league competition. Wakefield Athletic B made a great start in Group Five with a 3-0 win against St Ignatius. Athletic keeper Gareth Sharpe made a couple of good saves to preserve his side’s lead, but although they had more chances the Wakefield team could not add to their tally.
