A shootout ensued on Saturday night between a police officer and a civilian in Kimilili after they fought over a woman in a nightclub. Though the incident did not leave anyone injured, arrests were made to quell the fight. A police report filed at Kimilili Police Station, seen by the Star, stated that the arrest was made after one businessman, Benard Nabiswa, went to the police station to report a commotion at a nightclub. The officer, OB report states, rushed to his vehicle, withdrew his G 3 rifle from the boot and fired one round of 7.62mm in the air. Four people were arrested including Kevin Barasa, a police officer from Misikhu Police Post, who allegedly attempted to rescue PC Mbugua from lawful custody.
