PETALING JAYA: A number of major shopping centres in the Klang Valley have shown interest in participating in the Economic Frontliners Vaccination Programme (retail sector) to achieve herd immunity as quickly as possible among retailers. They are applying for a permit from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) via Malaysia Shopping Malls Association to allow them to set up a vaccination centre for tenants and workers. Eng Lian Enterprise Sdn Bhd, which manages Bangsar Village 1,2 and 3, as well as a few commercial lots in the surrounding area, also volunteered its space as a vaccination centre. Central i-City Shopping Centre chief operating officer Anthony Dylan said they were ready to play their part in achieving herd immunity the soonest. “We welcome the initiative as we see it as our responsibility to assistin the national vaccination programme by encouraging our tenants to take part in the vaccination drive among retail frontliners, ” he said.
