Ellie Simmonds won her fifth Paralympic gold medal with a brilliant swim in the SM6 200m individual medley last night, setting a new world record in the process. Competing at her third Paralympic Games, Simmonds, 21, successfully defended one of the two titles she had won in London four years ago, coasting to victory more than three seconds clear of Lingling Song, of China.
