Carolyn Reidy, the chief executive of book publisher Simon & Schuster, died Tuesday morning after suffering a heart attack, the company said. Ms. Reidy, 71 years old, was a veteran publishing figure known for her focus on the bottom line, her wide curiosity and her marketing prowess. A spokesman for Simon & Schuster said Ms. Reidy hadn’t been sick in recent weeks and that there was no apparent link to Covid-19.
