Sindh confirms first cases of UK coronavirus variant


ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Three cases of the more contagious variant of coronavirus first identified in the United Kingdom have been confirmed in Sindh, provincial health authorities confirmed Tuesday. The country reported almost 40,000 new infections as the mutated variant causes the number of cases and hospital admissions to soar. Britain’s chief scientific adviser Patrick Vallance also said COVID-19 vaccines appeared to be adequate in generating an immune response to the variant of the coronavirus.
