Singapore could stop counting its daily Covid case toll under new plans to live with the virus long-term. 'They carry on with their daily activities even during the flu season, taking simple precautions or getting an annual flu jab. Rapid antigen tests could be used to detect the presence of large outbreaks before individual cases are confirmed with a more-accurate PCR test. As a result of less-stringent testing, daily Covid infection figures may cease to hold relevance, they write. Singapore has been hailed for having one of the world's best Covid responses, and to date has notched up just 62,000 cases of the virus and 36 deaths.
