The Calgary Stampeders have released the Canadian linebacker in order to allow him to sign with a NFL club. Also last week, receiver Marken Michel and defensive lineman James Vaughters were set free by the Stamps in order to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Bears respectively. Singleton was the Stamps’ first-round selection in 2016 and he played in 54 regular-season games over the past three seasons. He amassed 322 defensive tackles including 10 tackles for loss, 17 special-teams tackles, four sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception and nine knockdowns. Singleton was voted the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2017, and he led the league in tackles in 2018.
