Sirte Oil reports 2,000 bpd output from new Zelten well

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) says its subsidiary Sirte Oil Company has completed a new horizontal well at the Zelten oil field with production exceeding 2,000 barrels per day. According to the NOC, the C345H well targeted the Zelten (L4) reservoir and includes a horizontal section of more than 1,300 feet. The company said advanced directional drilling and high-precision geosteering technologies were used. The well was tested last week, recording a flow rate of more than 2,000 barrels per day, the corporation said. The NOC described the result as a significant step in modernising field development, adding that horizontal drilling techniques are becoming a leading technical option after demonstrating improved efficiency and production rates.
