President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Friday 10/4/2026 discussed in a phone call with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the latest developments in the Middle East, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed al-Shennawy. In this regard, President Sisi stressed the importance of preserving regional peace and stability, through building on the recent ceasefire reached between the US and Iran, while launching serious negotiations to resolve outstanding issues between Washington and Tehran. On her part, the Italian prime minister voiced her deep appreciation for Egypt’s endeavors to consolidate the ceasefire, agreeing with President Sisi on the need to maintain regional stability. She affirmed Italy’s keenness to enhance cooperation and political coordination with Egypt to achieve these goals. They also explored means of advancing bilateral collaboration in tackling illegal migration, with the Italian prime minister expressing her appreciation for Egypt’s tangible efforts in this respect.
