ABOUT 40 girls and women will undergo a six-month skills training programme to help them improve their home-based businesses. The programme, under Johor’s Darul Ta’zim Family Development Foundation’s (YPKDT) Women’s Income-Generating Skills Project (Wings), focuses on single mothers, youth, children from single-parent families and underprivileged women in the state. “Once they complete the course, each participant will receive the Malaysian Skills Certificate from the Skills Development Department and Giatmara, ” she said. “This is in line with the foundation’s aspirations and the objective of the Wings programme, ” she said. Nurul Naqiah also said that more skills training programmes catering to single mothers and low-income earners have been lined up for this year.
