The Sixers and Embiid agreed to terms on a four-year, $196 million supermax extension that includes a player option for the 2026-27 season, as ESPN's Ramona Shelburne first reported. He had a plus-13.0 efficiency differential this past season, whereas no other Sixer had one higher than 7.6. Embiid's on/off splits weren't as egregious in the Sixers' second-round loss to the Atlanta Hawks this past season. This past season, the Sixers finished second to the Los Angeles Lakers in defensive rating, having allowed opponents to average only 107.0 points per 100 possessions. They've ranked in the 93rd percentile or above in defensive rating during Embiid's minutes in all but one of his five seasons, according to Cleaning the Glass.
