The much-loved snooker player and commentator John Virgo has died at the age of 79, World Snooker has announced. A World Snooker announcement read: “This morning it was confirmed that ‘JV’ had died in Spain, where he had lived in recent years. John Virgo teamed up with Jim Davidson to present snooker-based gameshow Big Break. From our time together on Big Break, to the snooker commentary chair, you brought so much joy to so many. “Everyone at World Snooker Tour is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of legendary snooker player and broadcaster John Virgo, aged 79,” a World Snooker statement read.
